@urban EXPLORERS, we consider CULTURE as the core of cities. We have spent close to 15 years exploring different geographies across the world, physically & morphologically; deconstructing as to what makes a place "tick". At the same time, we have invested our time in being in that geography for a year or so to understand the ethos of the community, their work and overall culture and then envision their future through urban DESIGN & PLANNING exercises. We consider that cities are the laboratories for such exercises & that every city has a soul/ genius loci.
In our current avataar in 2020-21, we our taking our "urban ART & EXPERIENCE" services to the next level where we explore different geographies and their inherent cultures through the virtual - OTT medium as physical was not really an option due to Covid-19 pandemic. We found that several binge-worthy Netflix series - sometimes fictional, sometimes historical, sometimes even fantastical; but mostly compelling storytelling were rich mediums to uncover the soul of the "setting"/ place where the series was based. These works of art/ entertainment (& commerce) have proved to be potent sources of stimulating anthropological "urban EXPLORATION" in constrained times! Thus, our attempt shall be to encapsulate these experiences - settings and characters into artefacts/ products/ merchandise to enrich and enliven "virtual communities" strung together by such storytelling in these difficult times.
