 PUBLIC GOOD INNOVATOR - URBANIST | DESIGNER | ARTIST | MENTOR| HEALER
Picture
Ritu applies her sensitivities to capture the timeless and the abstract in a way that the patterns and colors go beyond the themes that originally inspired her  - to the point where anyone looking at her paintings and their colours can connect with and experience the underlying emotion that inspired the paintings. She believes that Art even if Abstract, should be self-explanatory and like music or finely-cooked food, even Art should evoke emotion and feelings in each person who sees it, without actually needing to read or hear the description of the process .

Ritu’s artistic journey began formally at the age of 10, in the Bengal School of Arts to achieve the degree in Fine Arts (BSP, Kolkata) in 1995. Beyond her own passion for Art, Ritu sees herself as an innovative Designer and an Urbanist who can mould, sculpt and shape both physical space and emptiness. She is a qualified Architect (IIT Roorkee, 2002) and an Urban Planner & Designer (NUS Singapore, 2006) and has worked in 6 countries (Singapore, China, Qatar, Libya, France, India) over the last 18 years (2002-2020) and visited many more including  UK and Spain.  Currently, Delhi is her home-base which itself is historically 11 Cities and more. A City is a "Living Laboratory" for her.

She currently practices her unique brand of “Artistic Urbanism” and considers that the real world needs more creativity and imagination to solve wicked problems rather than a surgical, statistical approach. Her core “agenda” as an Artist is to share her life with and bring Beauty to the Community around. It is the abstraction of reality and her life-experiences (autobiographical) which inspires Ritu to explore, experiment and express herself through multiple mediums (writing and music too).
